For one of our clients, we're looking for a freelance IT Systems Engineer who will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and evolving the company’s IT infrastructure. This includes server environments, end‑user workstations, and network‑related activities.
The role requires a proactive professional with strong technical expertise, excellent problem‑solving skills, and a continuous learning mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Windows Server environments (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP).
• Administer and optimize VMware virtualization platforms (vSphere, ESXi).
• Implement, monitor, and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions using Veeam Backup & Replication.
• Configure and maintain Microsoft Endpoint Management solutions (SCCM, Intune).
• Ensure compliance with IT security best practices across all systems.
• Provide advanced support for Microsoft Intune, including device management and endpoint security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues, providing 2nd and 3rd level support.
• Contribute to infrastructure projects and participate in technical and architectural decisions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in IT systems or infrastructure engineering.
• Strong expertise with Windows Server administration, VMware virtualization, Veeam backup solutions & Microsoft System Center
• Solid knowledge of Endpoint security and compliance as well as Microsoft Intune and modern device management
• Good understanding of networking fundamentals and storage technologies.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation is an asset.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and/or certifications (ITIL, MCSA, VMware VCP) is a plus.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in French and Dutch, with B2‑level proficiency in English.
