Job Overview:
We are looking for a Drivetrain System Engineer who will be responsible for the mechatronic system & control software development of new bicycle drivetrain products. You will manage the requirements, system and control design, then the validation of the control, the mechatronic system including its sub-systems. You will collaborate with other designers to make design decisions with the R&D team in order to reach the project goals and timeline. You lead cross functionally your project with the other core competencies (mechanical, electrical, electronic).


Key Responsibilities: 
•    System design & development of new bicycle drivetrain products or sub systems, involving mechatronics, controls & SW 
•    Define best architectures to maximize re use of modules across product lines and for easy diagnostic, in coordination with partners for lower SW layers 
•    Define the requirements, size & select system design solutions to full fill the requirements & define the validation requirements of the system and sub-modules
•    Develop test scenarios which reflect requirements and safety targets
•    Develop new Control Logics for bicycle drivetrain products or sub systems
•    Define test-rig equipment needed and define the requirements of such rigs together with external partners
•    Support the validation of HW & SW by using test-rigs and field tests. Organize test-data and feedback to the requirements.
•    Release SW variants and ensure diagnostic & upgrades are Over The Air (OTA) compatible 
•    Define and approve sub-module requirements and validation plans with module owners regarding mechatronic & control systems
•    Coordination of activities with external partners to ensure drivetrain system & control performances are achieved


Qualificiations:
•    You have a degree and relevant experience (at least 4 years) in mechatronic / system / control engineering, ideally on gearboxes or mechatronic systems 
•    You have strong analytical skills and experience with motion systems, preferably drivetrain systems and motion control systems
•    You have experience with system requirements, design decisions and validation processes, ideally using MatLab Simulink, GitHub & Solidworks
•    You have good project & supplier management skills
•    You are very hands on and able to work autonomously
•    You are fluent in English – it is not required to have Dutch as a mother tongue
