Job Overview:
We are looking for a Technical Project Leader who will be responsible for the development of new bicycle drivetrain products. You will steer the projects in term of timing, costs, quality and deliverables throughout the company development milestones. You will cross functionally lead not only all company departments, but also some partners in order to make design, development and industrialization decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead technical projects from ideas to market introduction according to Product Creation Process involving all company departments (engineering, operations, marketing, sales).
• Good technical product understanding related to mechatronic systems including mechanical, EE and SW modules. Projects include new bicycle electric powered gearboxes.
• Align objectives, milestones & job sharing with partners, then ensure timely and smooth communication with them
• Align product targets with internal teams & partners
• Manage communication channels for all projects & partners, internally and externally
• Deliver on time the project milestones by providing evidences that the features are at the right quality level, and costs within budget
• Estimate, obtain then control project resources and financials: number of FTE; investments, bill of material, assembly costs...
• Elaborate project timing plans for internal and partner use, highlighting the critical path
• Lead issues resolution and elaborate risks and opportunities tracker for the projects, with mitigation plans
• Run productive project meetings (agenda preparation, chairing and issuing of action notes) to coordinate activities amongst all teams
• Report weekly statuses, and, by exception, lead recovery plans
• Ensure lessons learnt are captured, documented and fed into the Project Creation Process for future projects
Qualifications:
• You have a degree and relevant experience (at least 4 years) in Technical project management in an engineering context.
• Knowledge on the development processes of mechatronic products, ideally gearboxes
• Able to lead multi-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues, achieving the best outcome for the business within project timing
• Able to gain and keep partner confidence through adequate communication and project management
• Effective communication skills with the ability to listen actively and comfortable to present to all levels of management
• Experience in processing significant amounts of data using Microsoft Excel / PowerPoint /Google Sheets to carry out business and financial analyses
• Experience of creation and delivery of technology or systems or products, ideally within the automotive or cycling sector
• Capability to create timing plans with critical paths and present them, ideally using Click up
• Knowledge of some or all of: gear trains, low power micro actuation, shift mechanism, Bluetooth, IoT, 36-48V electric motors or mid drives
• Ideally knowledge and experience in Systems Engineering, Failure Mode Avoidance
• You are fluent in English and have excellent English writing skills – it is not required to have Dutch as a mother tongue. German is desirable.
