Underwriter Liability

Let’s talk about the role

We are currently looking for an Underwriter Liability for our Belgian office.

Reporting to the Head of Underwriting General Liability and as part of the General Liability team, you will act as a key point of contact for brokers and clients. You will assess risks, make underwriting decisions, and contribute to the profitable growth of our General Liability portfolio.

• a technical and service perspective, including timely follow-up and professional broker/client interactions;
• Contribute actively to the achievement of your Business Unit’s quantitative and qualitative targets;
• Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients through regular contact, visits, and presentations;
• Monitor market trends, claims developments, and commercial opportunities, translating insights into concrete actions (portfolio steering, product improvements, etc.).

Who are we looking for

• You hold a Master’s degree or have equivalent experience;
• You bring at least 3 years of underwriting experience, ideally within General Liability or broader casualty lines ;
• You have solid knowledge of Liability insurance products (General Liability, Product Liability, Environmental Liability, etc.);
• You are results-driven, able to work autonomously, and enjoy collaborating within a team;
• You combine a strong sense of ownership with well-developed commercial and networking skills;
• You are curious, eager to grow, and open to change;
• You communicate clearly and effectively, with strong negotiation and presentation skills;
• You are fluent in Dutch, French, and English, both written and spoken.
