GNSS DATA ANALYST

The Job

As a GNSS Data Analyst, you are part of a multidisciplinary R&D team located in Belgium which develops and tests advanced high-precision navigation satellite receiver modules. Septentrio’s GNSS receivers track hundreds of satellite signals, providing high precision ranging measurements.  These receivers are often operating in difficult environments with lots of reflections, obscuration, and interference. 

Your Mission

Your mission is to define, execute and document tests on latest models of high-end GPS/GNSS receivers. You will approach the product from the user point of view and will work in close contact with the developers. An important part of the job is to analyse receiver GNSS performance when exposed to specific environmental challenges. Based on your observations, you contribute to the development process, proposing data-driven firmware improvements at algorithmic and parametric level, and tuning these in an organized way. Together with team colleagues you decide if new products and product updates are ready to release.

You have an efficient approach when it comes to testing, so you try to automate your tests as much as possible.

Your Qualifications

You have an MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Geomatics or Physics and you are experienced with data processing tools like MATLAB or Python NumPy and can handle complex datasets. You also are familiar with GNSS measurements and the physical effects behind.

You have a general understanding of GNSS receivers at system level, but also do you like working with advanced lab equipment like GNSS simulators and signal generators.

Programming skills: Python, Robot Framework.

You are creative, like to invent experiments and test systems, you have a ‘can break mentality’ and you have a keen eye for details. You are fluent in English.
