HARDWARE PRODUCT INNOVATION INTERNSHIP

Description Of The Project

GPS/GNSS positioning is becoming a common element in IoT, Autonomous and 4th revolution technology. Septentrio’s GNSS products play an important role on this aspect which thanks to its accurate and flexible integration. The internship will go over making a HW or System design and a high-level open-source integration for some of the most important integrations. The work will involve some HW high level design/understanding as well as software understanding to make sure basic software is available to allow the integration to work.

Responsibilities Of The Intern

You will gather general requirements and come up with an innovative proposal for a new hardware product idea targeted to robotics. You also will get familiar with the ecosystem (e.g. robotics, NVIDIA SDK, Raspberry Pi, or the targeted general system) specially when integrating GPS systems. And you will evaluate possible companies doing these systems and check existing designs and pick up the best ideas from a full open-minded view.

You will make a high-level design for the system integration to allow an easy open-source (HW/SW) project. You will identify the software elements needed to make the system to work in the easiest way. You will consider, best design with cost minded view. You will produce or reproduce the electronics design hardware, 3D print or prototype the idea, document fully the design and make it available online so that community can adopt the system integration as easily as possible. The final solution should work in an intuitive way.

You

You study electrical/Electronics, Robotics or Mechatronics Engineering or similar (or software Engineering with hardware affinity). You are good hands-on HW design (basic PCB design, layout, etc.) and have basic Linux/Windows programming experience (understanding of software libraries or basic drivers). Further, you are creative-Design-oriented. And you are flexible for task assignments and an independent worker, with innovative thinking.

You would be the ideal candidate if you have experience with NVIDIA and Raspberry or with Autonomous vehicles or Sensor fusion. And if you have GNSS experience or experience in making PCB designs, 3D mechanical boxes.
