Puratos Talent Community: Internship : Sensory Project Leader on Flavor Evaluation

Mission and key tasks

As a sensory intern, you will be part of the sensory team in the Group Research and Services department, working on various sensory analysis assignments: panel management, project follow-up, sensory expertise development.

You will work in narrow collaboration with the Group sensory experts, and actively participate in several projects linked to sensory evaluation of bakery and patisserie products, with a focus on developing panel training material for expert flavor evaluation.

Your key tasks:

• Review of specialized literature, and documentation & current material for training of Puratos sensory experts on flavor evaluation


• Selection of appropriate simple food matrices to use for flavor training, and preparation/baking of bakery and patisserie samples in a standardized way


• Organization and delivery of panel training sessions using the newly selected materials


• Support in conducting sensory evaluations with the Belgian sensory panel and in panel management tasks.

Who are we looking for ?

• Bachelor or Master level with preliminary expertise in food science


• Experience in laboratory work


• Good knowledge of English


• Capacity to lead a project from the beginning to the end


• Interest in bakery and patisserie


• Basic knowledge in sensory analysis is a plus
