Amazon is seeking an experienced Inclusive Experiences and Technology (IXT) Global Engagement Portfolio Specialist III to manage IXT's highly visible global events portfolio and drive strategic brand engagement initiatives for the Latin America region. As the IXT Global Portfolio Engagement Portfolio Specialist, you play a crucial role in spearheading strategic initiatives aimed at engaging a diverse audience, igniting enthusiasm, and achieving predetermined goals aligned with IXT objectives. Your leadership entails orchestrating meticulously planned activations that create impactful experiences and foster meaningful connections among participants, with a core focus on advancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives within the organization and broader community. By cultivating relationships with external partners, you drive forward initiatives that align with Amazon's core principles and IXT priorities. Guiding a team of individuals, you ensure these efforts are executed effectively, ultimately contributing to the advancement of DEI objectives while maintaining alignment with the organization's overarching goals. •Oversee the planning, production, and execution of Amazon events hosted across our Latin America region, ranging from large conferences to smaller, high-touch executive activities focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
•Lead event strategy and ensure goals are met by managing budgets, timelines, vendors, logistics and on-site operations
•Collaborate with key stakeholders to define event goals, content, and promotion strategies aligned with DEI initiatives.
•Serve as the project manager for events, managing pre-event consultations, venue selection, vendor relationships, agenda development, event promotion, budget management, staffing, on-site management, and post-event follow-up.
•Manage the event calendar, project timelines, and budgets effectively, ensuring that DEI goals are prioritized.
•Conduct pre-event weekly meetings and maintain event planning documentation.
•Work closely with cross-functional teams including IXT, HR, marketing, communications and PR teams to align event strategies with IXT overarching goals.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive employee engagement plans aligned with DEI’s mission and goals.
•Identify opportunities to engage creators and viewers around current events or industry moments related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
•Analyze and evaluate engagement initiatives, using data-driven insights to make recommendations for program improvements that enhance DEI outcomes.
•Advise on strategic business decisions related to IXT brand engagement and marketing communications with a DEI lens. A day in the life
We are looking for someone who:
- Is highly analytical and process-driven, can own strategic planning, drive decisions forward, execute high-impact programs and projects, and lead through influence
- Has experience developing and leading strategic initiatives and working with stakeholders to solve complex challenges
- Can lead and deliver results, even when faced with ambiguity
- Has the proven ability to develop and scale mechanisms
- Has experience managing stakeholders at all levels
- Can work cross-functionally with many teams and multi-task with a sense of urgency
- Has impeccable attention to detail, follow-through, and resourcefulness
- Uses analytical skills to develop quantitative and qualitative insights to both look around corners and formulate robust, actionable recommendations for senior leadership We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Sao Paulo, SP, BRA - Bachelor's degree
- Team management experience
- Experience with cross functional project delivery experience
- Program or project management experience
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- Advanced English
- Intermediate Spanish - Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience in public relations, brand strategy including experience working in-house
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
- Strong project management skills with a proven track record of running successful DEI-focused events.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with a passion for promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Highly analytical and process-driven, capable of strategic planning and execution with a DEI lens.
- Experience leading global initiatives and working with stakeholders at all levels to advance DEI goals.
- Proficiency in managing budgets and resources effectively, prioritizing investments that drive diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and multitask with a sense of urgency, leveraging diversity, equity, and inclusion as core values.
- Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and resourcefulness, particularly in driving DEI outcomes.
- Established relationships with DEI organizations, media outlets, and influencers is a plus.
- Previous experience working with senior executives up to VP level with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Ability to travel as needed to support DEI-focused initiatives.
