Application Engineer Power Systems

What you’ll do:

Job Summary    
The Application Engineer (AE) will assist in all stages of sales cycle, interpreting customer specifications and recommending optimal solutions, making technical presentations/training about the product lines and its applications, solving technical questions raised by the customers and preparing quotations.

The AE will also participate in trade shows and technical events, promoting the product lines.  
    
Job Responsibilities    

• Establish relationships with the technical influencer in the target customers, achieving a position as trusted “Technical Advisor” to key individuals within the target customers.
• Conduct product seminars and training on Eaton products and solutions to end users, consultants and sales engineers
• Provide feedback to product marketing and engineering regarding market / customer information
• Provide input to the Product Line organizations and to Marketing Team relative to industry trends, competitors’ actions and code trends that could develop into opportunities or threats for Eaton’s Electrical business.
• Provide efficient and accurate pre-sale application and technical support by analyzing and recommending solutions to meet customer’s needs
• Effectively communicate product value proposition and product line strategies
• Review and provide feedback on product literature developed by product line, as well as technical product updates to customers
• Provide support on major projects including proposals and interfacing with the customer and project consultants, also assisting customers with design opportunities
• Prepare quotations
• Understand competitive environment in order to be able to position Eaton products in the right segments and better compete against competitor offerings.
• Be capable of building partnerships for better positioning Eaton in target projects.
• Contribute with EHS metrics that were established of the area/function/factory in accordance with the deployment realized.
• Be compliance with EHS and quality policy in accordance with trainings and communication transmitted for the function.

Qualifications:

Education level required     

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering / related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education

Required knowledge   

• Technical knowledge in power systems products (reclosers, switches, capacitor and banks, network protectors).
• Experience in electric products protection
• High degree of proficiency with MS Office products (Word, PowerPoint & Excel)
• Languages: 
  
  • Intermediate English 

Preferred Knowledge

• Intermediate Spanish
• Experience working with electrical distribution companies
• Experience in business development and value-based selling
