Associate Pharmacist - Supply Chain (Pharmacy & Stores)

Objective

Perform activities necessary to ensure efficient, timely and correct dispensing of drugs to inpatients and outpatients / departments.

Principal Accountabilities :

(A) Operational

• Accurately and promptly dispense prescriptions / Issue of departmental indents.

• Review and monitor patient profiles for interactions, incompatibilities, allergies, duplication of orders, cost effectiveness of drugs and intervenes appropriately.

• Billing of dispensed items for inpatient and outpatients.

• Implementing the SOP’s.

• Provides drug information to patients and other healthcare professionals.

• Ensure proper storage and record keeping of drugs/consumables.

• Maintain upto date knowledge about all drugs and medical supplies.

• Play an active role in ensuring proper inventory control systems including, control and monitoring of stocks, introduction of new items, removal of non moving and expired stock.

• Actively participate in the creation of the Pharmacy Formulary.

• Any other responsibility assigned by superiors.

 

Performance Parameters

• Accurate information to patients about drugs - their dosage and precautions.

• Accuracy in invoicing/billing.

• Timely and accurate fill of drugs/consumables. 

• Active participation in all departmental training and development activities.

• Active participation in Inventory Management.

 

Education

Essential: : Diploma in Pharmacy

Experience

3-7 years experience in reputed hospital pharmacy or retail outlet.
