This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Clinical Start-up & Trial Lead (Start-up + CTL) in Brazil.

This role sits at the center of clinical trial delivery, combining clinical project management, start-up oversight, and cross-functional leadership in a highly regulated global environment. You will be responsible for ensuring clinical studies are executed efficiently, meeting contractual, financial, and quality expectations while maintaining strong alignment with clients and internal teams. Acting as the clinical delivery lead within a matrix organization, you will guide study strategy, manage operational execution, and ensure site and vendor performance across all phases of the trial. The position requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, with direct impact on timelines, budgets, and patient recruitment success. You will also play a key role in risk management, governance, and continuous improvement initiatives across studies. This is a high-visibility role involving close collaboration with global stakeholders in a fast-paced, quality-driven clinical research environment.

Accountabilities

You will be responsible for leading the clinical execution of clinical trials from start-up through delivery, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations, quality standards, and regulatory requirements while managing cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Lead clinical trial delivery as the clinical project lead within a matrix project structure

Define and execute clinical project strategy, including timelines, scope, quality, and operational plans

Oversee site management, monitoring strategy, vendor performance, and patient recruitment/retention activities

Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial tracking, ensuring alignment with contractual milestones

Identify, assess, and mitigate clinical, operational, and financial risks using structured risk management frameworks

Ensure adherence to governance, SOPs, regulatory requirements, and client expectations

Lead communication and collaboration with clients and internal stakeholders across global, multicultural teams

Support bid defense activities and contribute to new business proposals when required

Track KPIs, manage change orders, and ensure accurate reporting of project performance metrics

Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to clinical project team members

Requirements

You should bring experience in clinical research or clinical trial management within a regulated environment, along with strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. This role requires familiarity with global clinical standards and the ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects.

University degree in life sciences or related healthcare field (or equivalent relevant experience)

2+ years of clinical research, monitoring, or clinical project experience (or equivalent experience in pharma/CRO/healthcare environments)

Strong understanding of ICH-GCP guidelines and international clinical trial regulations

Experience working in matrixed, global, and virtual project environments

Strong financial and budget management awareness

Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments

Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities

Proficiency with standard business tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project)

Fluent English (written and spoken)

Ability to travel up to 30% internationally and domestically

Experience mentoring or guiding junior team members
