The Clinical Veterinarian provides comprehensive veterinary care for research animals while ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare and scientific support. CCM veterinarians are responsible for assigned research facilities and perform daily clinical oversight, diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions, prescription and monitoring of medications, and maintenance of accurate animal health records. This role plays a critical part in supporting biomedical research by partnering with investigators and research staff. The Clinical Veterinarian is also essential to ensuring institutional compliance with all applicable animal welfare laws, regulations, and accreditation standards. The role requires independent professional judgment and full autonomy in clinical decision‑making consistent with veterinary licensure, institutional policy, and regulatory standards.
Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays on a rotating basis, to cover on call duty including veterinary medical support and emergencies. This position is considered essential personnel which will require work during emergency situations (hurricanes, floods, etc.).
