As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will play a supportive role in the implementation, management, support, and maintenance of Docusign’s Cloud & AI infrastructure. We are looking for candidates who are eager to learn and have a basic understanding of cloud technologies. You will collaborate closely with experienced engineers and other teams to assist in cloud implementations. We prioritize tooling, automation, and infrastructure that simplify the development and management of software and services for our engineering teams. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated and willing to learn, while also being open to instruction and feedback.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director of DevOps Engineering.

Responsibility

• Assist in the design and implementation of key shared infrastructure components to enhance the availability and scalability of our services

• Help build tools and automation that support and improve the accessibility of our platform, aiming to increase the productivity of our product teams

• Participate in on-call support as part of a rotation with other team members

• Support services throughout their lifecycle by contributing a cross-stack perspective on system design, self-service capabilities, scalability, automation, capacity, and reliability

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

Positions at Docusign are assigned a job designation of either In Office, Hybrid or Remote and are specific to the role/job. Basic

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, Cloud operations, DevOps or a similar role

• Experience working with geographically dispersed teams

• 3+ years of experience with at least one cloud provider (AWS or Azure)

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD technologies

• 3+ years of experience programming with Python and Terraform for automation and developing scalable applications

• Bachelor’s in computer science or relevant experience

Preferred

• In depth and hands-on experience working with AWS or Azure

• Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, HashiCorp Certified Terraform Associate)

• Experience with container orchestration and management using Kubernetes, along with proficiency in Docker for containerization

• Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Good understanding of cloud security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and securing cloud applications

Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

California: $X/hour - $X/hour or $X - $X base salary

Illinois, Colorado, Massachusetts and Minnesota: $X/hour - $X/hour or $X - $X base salary

Washington, Maryland, New Jersey and New York (including NYC metro area): $X/hour - $X/hour or $X - $X base salary

Washington DC: $X/hour - $X/hour or $X - $X base salary

Ohio: $X/hour - $X/hour or $X - $X base salary 

Canada: CAD $X/hour - CAD $X/hour or CAD $X - CAD $X base salary

This role is also eligible for the following:

• Bonus: Sales personnel are eligible for variable incentive pay dependent on their achievement of pre-established sales goals. Non-Sales roles are eligible for a company bonus plan, which is calculated as a percentage of eligible wages and dependent on company performance.
• Stock: This role is eligible to receive Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
