This role is focused on ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous operation of complex SAP environments within a mission-critical enterprise setting. The professional will act as a key technical support point, responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining SAP systems across different modules and infrastructures. You will work in a highly structured environment, following best practices for system operations and incident management. The role involves close interaction with infrastructure, database, and application teams to ensure end-to-end service availability. It is ideal for someone who enjoys operational excellence, problem-solving, and working with large-scale enterprise systems. You will also contribute to automation, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance system reliability and performance.
Accountabilities:
- Operate, monitor, and support SAP environments ensuring availability, stability, and performance across production and non-production systems.
- Manage incidents, service requests, problems, and changes through ticketing systems, ensuring timely resolution and proper documentation.
- Execute backup, restore, and system start/stop procedures as required by operational or maintenance needs.
- Monitor batch and online processing flows, identifying anomalies, performance issues, and system deviations.
- Apply SAP operational best practices such as monitoring frameworks (e.g., Run SAP Like a Factory - RSLAF).
- Use tools such as SAP Solution Manager and monitoring utilities to analyze system behavior and generate technical reports.
- Support system maintenance activities including tuning, configuration adjustments, and transport management.
- Participate in infrastructure monitoring during testing cycles, migrations, and performance validations.
- Automate operational tasks and improve monitoring dashboards, alerts, and reporting mechanisms.
- Provide technical documentation and knowledge transfer to internal teams and stakeholders when needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent postgraduate qualification (360+ hours).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in SAP BASIS technical administration and support activities.
- Solid experience with SAP environments such as ECC, S/4HANA, BW, and Fiori.
- Knowledge of SAP system administration tools and processes including SWPM, SUM, SPAM, SAINT, and SNOTE.
- Experience with system monitoring and diagnostics using tools such as ST02, ST22, ST03N, SM50, SM66, and SAP Solution Manager.
- Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows Server, Linux (RedHat/SUSE), and AIX.
- Experience with databases such as HANA, Oracle, or DB2.
- Understanding of transport management (TMS), system performance tuning, and technical security (SAPRouter, roles, and certificates).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in complex enterprise environments.
- SAP BASIS certification (SAP Certified Technology Associate) is considered a strong plus.
