About the role
The CT Operator will be responsible for operating and monitoring all critical systems involved in the channel’s broadcast chain, ensuring signal integrity, on-air quality, and continuous technical stability. This professional plays a key role in ingest operations, content validation, quality control, file management, live transmission monitoring, and overall support to Production, Programming, MCR, and Engineering teams.
The CT Operator is essential for maintaining accuracy, reliability, and safety in SportyNet’s 24/7 broadcast operation.
What you'll be doing
Ingest Operations & Content Management
- Perform ingest of content delivered by production teams, partners, rights holders, and commercial clients
- Ensure all media files meet technical standards for video, audio, and metadata
- Organize and validate assets within the system, ensuring correct availability for playout
- Verify content versions, durations, and compliance prior to airing
Signal Monitoring & Technical Control
- Continuously monitor the channel’s on-air signal and internal feeds, identifying issues or instabilities
- Perform technical quality checks (audio, video, loudness, sync, subtitles)
- Act promptly in cases of interruptions, playout errors, or ingest failures
- Register incidents and contribute with reports for process improvement
Live Transmission Support
- Support the reception and monitoring of live feeds (matches, shows, remote productions)
- Coordinate technical alignment with MCR, engineering, and production teams
- Confirm readiness of VTs, commercial spots, graphics, and assets for live playback
- Ensure feed stability, synchronization, and proper routing during live events
Collaboration with Programming, Production & MCR
- Work closely with programming to validate playlists, durations, and scheduled content
- Assist production teams with content availability, ingest requirements, and technical specifications
- Collaborate with MCR to ensure correct execution of breaks, VTs, and programmed blocks
- Validate commercial inserts and sponsored segments for correct placement and airing
Quality Control & Operational Workflow
- Conduct manual quality checks, identifying video artifacts, audio issues, corrupted frames, or mixing problems
- Ensure compliance with broadcast standards and technical requirements
- Assist with final checks before premieres, special events, and high-impact broadcasts
- Contribute to organized file management, archives, and content logging systems
Technical Support & Routine Operations
- Assist with monitoring equipment and systems used in operations (ingest, playout, servers, monitoring)
- Report failures, open technical tickets, and follow up with engineering teams
- Participate in system tests, pilots, and updates when necessary
- Follow established SOPs and contribute to continuous workflow optimization
What you'll bring
- Degree or technical training in Broadcasting, Audiovisual Production, Engineering, Media Technology, or related fields
- Experience in TV operations, ingest, quality control, playout, or MCR is a strong advantage
- Familiarity with broadcast environments and transmission workflows
- Knowledge of ingest systems, playout automation, and media servers
- Understanding of video and audio technical standards (SDI, IP, codecs, loudness, sync)
- Ability to monitor multiple signals and quickly identify technical faults
- Basic understanding of live contribution protocols (SRT, RTMP, HLS, etc.)
- Familiarity with basic video editing or transcoding tools is a plus
- Intermediate English for reading technical documentation
- Strong attention to detail and precision in operational routines
- Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to critical situations
- Clear communication skills with technical, operational, and editorial teams
- Organization, proactiveness, and high sense of responsibility
- Analytical mindset and ability to contribute to improvements in workflows
