This role is a key interface between business stakeholders and data engineering teams, responsible for shaping and delivering high-value data products that power decision-making across Property & Casualty insurance and distribution functions. You will lead the definition and prioritization of product backlogs for enterprise data initiatives, ensuring alignment between business goals and technical execution. The position plays a central role in building and evolving a modern enterprise data warehouse that delivers trusted, scalable, and high-quality data assets across the organization. You will translate complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements and ensure delivery teams execute with precision and consistency. This is a highly collaborative role that requires strong communication, structured thinking, and the ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. It is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of data, business strategy, and technology delivery. Accountabilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for driving the success of enterprise data products from definition through delivery:
- Own and manage the product backlog for strategic data initiatives, ensuring alignment with business priorities and enterprise data strategy
- Translate business requirements into clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria for technical teams
- Prioritize features, enhancements, and technical tasks to maximize business value and delivery impact
- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, data engineers, architects, and delivery teams
- Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defining validation criteria and ensuring delivered solutions meet business expectations
- Support the development and evolution of a centralized enterprise data warehouse and related data products
- Ensure data quality, consistency, governance, and usability across multiple data sources and systems
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and stakeholder alignment sessions
- Track delivery progress, manage risks, and communicate updates to both technical and business audiences
- Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and optimization of data workflows
Requirements
We are looking for a strong Data Product Owner with experience bridging business and technical teams in data-driven environments:
- Experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role focused on data or analytics products
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, data integration, and enterprise data management concepts
- Hands-on experience with SQL and Snowflake for data exploration, validation, and collaboration with engineering teams
- Advanced Excel skills for data analysis, reconciliation, and reporting
- Basic understanding of Python and its role in data processing or automation (nice to have)
- Experience working in Agile or SAFe delivery environments
- Strong knowledge of backlog management, prioritization frameworks, and UAT processes
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment
