About the role

Lead and develop a high‑performing Regulatory & Scientific Affairs team to ensure regulatory compliance, scientific credibility, and proactive regulatory engagement across Brazil and the South Cone. The role supports business growth by translating regulatory and scientific requirements into customer‑centric, value‑adding solutions aligned with global strategy and regional market needs.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the regional Regulatory & Scientific Affairs strategy aligned with global standards and LATAM business priorities.


• Strengthen proactive engagement with customers, regulatory authorities, and trade associations in Brazil and South Cone.


• Build and sustain strong regulatory and scientific capabilities across Kerry technologies and applications.


• Position Regulatory & Scientific Affairs as a strategic partner to Commercial, R&D, and Marketing teams.


• Lead, coach, and develop the Regulatory & Scientific Affairs team, driving performance, engagement, and technical excellence.


• Ensure regulatory compliance and timely support for product development, commercialization, and customer requests across Brazil and South Cone markets.


• Monitor, interpret, and communicate regulatory and legislative changes (e.g., ANVISA, MAPA, MERCOSUR, local health authorities) and assess business impact.


• Represent the company with regulatory authorities, industry associations, and external stakeholders, strengthening Kerry’s regional credibility.


• Drive consistent regulatory processes, tools, and service levels aligned with global operating models.


• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Commercial, R&D, Quality, Operations, and Marketing to support growth, innovation, and risk management

Qualifications and skills

• Bachelor’s degree in food science, chemistry, pharmacy, nutrition, engineering, or related technical field. Postgraduate qualification is desirable.


• 10+ years of experience in Regulatory Affairs and/or Scientific Affairs within the food and beverage industry.


• Strong knowledge of Brazilian and South Cone regulatory frameworks; experience with LATAM regulatory environments strongly desired.


• Proven people leadership experience in a regional or matrixed organization.


• Fluency in Portuguese and English required; Spanish highly desirable.


• Food & beverage regulatory compliance and legislation (Brazil / South Cone / LATAM).


• Regulatory strategy, risk assessment, and issue management.


• Scientific affairs positioning and customer technical engagement.


• Regulatory support for innovation, claims, labeling, and market access.


• Stakeholder management with regulatory authorities and trade associations.
