Integrations Specialist (Backend / Automation Engineer)

The Opportunity

Are you a backend developer or automation engineer who loves the challenge of making complex systems talk to each other? Do you get satisfaction from building an elegant integration that saves a team hours of manual work every week?

We're looking for an Integrations Specialist to design, build, and maintain the internal tools and system integrations that power Digital Resource's marketing operations. You'll work directly with our cross-functional teams — ads, social, creative, and operations — to translate real business problems into scalable technical solutions.

This is a high-impact, high-visibility role. The tools you build will be used daily across the company, and you'll have real ownership over the systems that keep us running.

What You'll Do

Build & Integrate

• Develop and maintain internal web applications, automation scripts, and microservices that improve how our teams work
• Build and manage integrations with platforms including Google Ads, Meta Business Manager, Google Analytics, Basecamp, CRMs, and other marketing and operational systems
• Architect and maintain APIs, authentication flows (OAuth2, webhooks), and secure internal data-sharing processes

Infrastructure & Reliability

• Deploy and maintain applications on Google Cloud (VMs, serverless services, storage)
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure reliability, security, and uptime
• Implement CI/CD best practices and support containerized deployments where applicable

Collaborate & Document

• Work closely with internal teams to understand business needs and translate them into clean technical solutions
• Produce clear documentation: system diagrams, technical specs, and SOPs
• Be a reliable technical partner across departments — not just a developer who disappears after shipping

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 2+ years of experience in backend or full-stack software development
• Proficiency in JavaScript (Node.js) or Python
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, OAuth2, and webhook-based integrations
• Hands-on experience deploying applications on Google Cloud (VM setup, serverless, storage)
• Familiarity with relational or NoSQL databases and solid data-modeling fundamentals
• Basic understanding of web analytics and event-tracking concepts
• A portfolio, GitHub profile, or coding samples that demonstrate your work

Bonus Points For:

• Experience with Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, or Firebase
• Understanding of marketing data structures, attribution, or performance reporting
• CRM integration experience (journey workflows, lifecycle reporting)
• Experience building internal tools or workflow automations (Zapier, Make, custom scripts)
• Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD workflows, or containerized deployments
• Prior experience working with a marketing or digital agency
