This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Law & Ethics Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Brazil.
This role is part of an innovative AI evaluation initiative focused on improving how advanced language models understand and respond to complex legal and ethical questions in Brazilian Portuguese. As a Subject Matter Expert, you will contribute to the creation of high-quality, expert-level content that reflects real-world legal reasoning, regulatory frameworks, and ethical considerations. You will design and answer scenario-based questions that require deep analytical thinking, precision, and contextual awareness. The work directly supports the development of more reliable and contextually accurate AI systems for the Brazilian market. Operating in a fully remote and flexible freelance setup, you will apply your domain expertise to ensure linguistic, legal, and cultural accuracy. Accountabilities:
- Design advanced, open-ended questions based on real-world scenarios in law, ethics, governance, and public policy within the Brazilian context.
- Provide detailed, accurate, and well-structured answers grounded in strong legal and ethical expertise.
- Ensure incorporation of Brazil-specific legal, cultural, and regulatory nuances where relevant.
- Create content that requires critical thinking, multi-step reasoning, and nuanced interpretation.
- Maintain high standards of clarity, precision, and written quality in Brazilian Portuguese (pt-BR).
- Follow project guidelines carefully and deliver outputs within defined timelines and quality expectations.
- Collaborate in a structured, guideline-driven environment while working independently.
Requirements:
- Native or fluent proficiency in Brazilian Portuguese (pt-BR).
- 5–10+ years of professional experience in law, ethics, compliance, public policy, or related fields.
- Strong academic background and/or proven professional expertise in a relevant discipline.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and logically.
- Strong written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and consistently deliver high-quality outputs.
- Nice to have: experience in legal research, education, content creation, or knowledge evaluation.
- Nice to have: familiarity with AI training, evaluation, or data annotation projects.
- Nice to have: interdisciplinary experience (e.g., political theory, philosophy, human rights, regulatory ethics, or technology ethics).
- Strong sense of responsibility, precision, and adherence to guidelines.
