The HSE Coordinator is responsible for Implementing the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) management system, including developing policies, standards, and procedures; notifying and investigating incidents; reducing losses; managing improvement projects; and carrying out various legal compliance activities.
As an HSE Coordinator, you will be responsible for:
- Developing procedures, conducting risk assessments, and leading implementation processes to ensure alignment with applicable standards, legislation, regulations, and best practices.
- Supporting the maintenance of the HSE management system, ensuring compliance with Brazilian regulatory standards, ISO 14001/ISO 45001, and client requirements, as well as performing internal audits to maintain program oversight.
- Investigating and analyzing incidents/accidents, implementing corrective actions related to HSE activities, and producing internal investigation reports when applicable.
- Providing legal, technical, and procedural guidance and direction to all business areas.
- Engaging with business development teams, operational personnel, clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and others whenever necessary.
- Coordinating the SESMT (Specialized Service in Safety Engineering and Occupational Medicine).
- Supervising and developing the support team, coaching them to promote continuous improvement in HSE performance.
- Managing occupational safety indicators such as accidents/incidents, inspections, training, nonconformities, HSE meetings, and related metrics.
- Ensuring that the company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental values are upheld by employees, suppliers, and contractors through identifying, monitoring, and controlling significant environmental impacts and occupational risks, supported by leadership, training, and commitment.
- Working in compliance with company quality policies and operational procedures, reporting any nonconformities, concerns, or risks related to products, processes, or services, and committing to continuous improvement.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
- Holding a Bachelor’s degree (a postgraduate degree in Occupational Safety Engineering is desirable)
- Bringing 3 years of experience working in environmental, health, and occupational safety
- Using Microsoft Office
- Having an advanced English
- Applying knowledge of legislation, standards, and procedures related to environmental, health, and occupational safety
