About the team

As Nubank rapidly expands to support billions of customers across multiple countries, over 100 financial products, and 100+ business platforms, our infrastructure is key to overcoming significant scalability and operational challenges. Spanning over multiple AWS accounts, our current infrastructure includes approximately 200 Kafka clusters, 1500 brokers, more than 200k topics, and processes 300 TB of data daily.

We are searching for talented engineers passionate about building and managing robust, scalable systems. Our team tackles challenges such as operating and managing over 200 Kafka clusters efficiently and ensuring support and monitoring across over 1 million Kafka topics.

Your role

Your contributions in this role will directly address critical challenges, such as:

• Help operate and manage over 200 Kafka clusters efficiently.


• Support and monitor over 1 million Kafka topics.


• Handle over 1PB of data flowing through Kafka daily, ensuring minimal latency and high reliability.


• Optimize resource utilization and control costs in a smart, sustainable way manner.


• Explore Extending asynchronous communication patterns beyond Kafka to meet future needs.


• Maintain performance, reliability, and contain blast radius as the message volume grows exponentially.

What are we looking for?

• Experience in managing large-scale distributed systems or messaging platforms.


• Strong understanding of infrastructure management and optimization strategies.


• Experience with AWS infrastructure and related services is a plus.


• Ability to design and implement efficient monitoring solutions.


• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.


• Experience with automation and configuration management tools.
