Private Equity Analyst/Associate

Alothon Group is a value oriented private equity firm with a focus on middle market investments in Latin America, principally Brazil. The Team has over 15 years of investment history in the region and is actively engaged with management teams to grow businesses through operational value added. Alothon invests in control or co-control positions of middle market private businesses and adds value through operational improvements as well as organic and consolidation driven growth. The team is composed of seasoned senior private equity professionals with considerable country, industry, and management expertise, and is associated with leading operating managers. Alothon invests in Latin American economies with strong domestic demand, attractive growth prospects and deep pools of management talent.

Analysts/Associates take on a high level of responsibility early on in both transactions and business development. Analysts/Associates have substantive contact with management teams as they: conduct industry, financial, operating, and management due diligence on potential investment opportunities, prepare investment proposals, work with portfolio companies’ management to improve operations, and analyze/prepare potential divestitures.

Day to day responsibilities can include:

• Conducting financial analysis through extensive use of Excel

• Assisting in the preparation of investment proposals

• Analyzing industry and economic trends

• Monitoring portfolio companies’ financial and operating performance

• Investigating local country rules and regulations

• Sharing their viewpoint on the business issues

Specific qualifications include:

• High academic achievement 

• Some due diligence, modeling and valuation experience 

• Display maturity, attention to detail, initiative, and problem solving skills 

• Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Good verbal & written communication skills

• Fully fluent in English and Portuguese
