Product Design Engineer - Indaiatuba/SP

As a Product Design Engineer at John Deere, based in the Indaiatuba/SP unit, you will be responsible for leading local design activities, collaborating with global teams, and supporting product validation for new programs. This includes the development of hydraulic and mechanical system designs for forestry machinery targeted at both Brazilian and international markets, as well as trial fits, testing, data analysis, and driving continuous improvement post-production. The role requires strong cross-functional interaction and availability for travel.

Main Responsibilities

• Integration Engineer  for  new product (ISDP, PDP, CI);
• Coordinate  all local design activities, including trial fits, while coordinating with design team in ETEC India;
• Developing key relationships with local Brazil team, including excavator design and PVV, manufacturing, supply management and  JDB Forestry team;
• Support  all PVV activities locally for new programs along with Brazil PVV team - Will also coordinate with global expert team as needed. This will require travel to customers, debugging test instrumentation and collection, data analysis and preliminary conclusions;
• Post production, drive  all CI activities for new models, including cost reduction, quality improvements and warranty reduction;
• Up to 50% travel during FY26; up to 25% travel for other years.

Skills You Need

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Production Engineering and/or related areas;
• Advanced English skills (broad vocabulary, good grammar, able to lead meetings, argue, negotiate, and conduct trainings);
• Performs basic product design, testing and/or analysis work for a defined portion of a project. Operates in a team environment, providing input to design solutions and participating in design reviews. Develops recommendations within established guidelines; work and decisions are reviewed by supervisors before implementation;
• Works with guidance (but not constant supervision) to execute engineering designs using the appropriate methods, tools, processes and software;
• Works with guidance (but not constant supervision) to achieve engineering development targets using appropriate methods, tools, processes and software;
• Works with guidance (but not constant supervision) to test, evaluate and improve engineering outcomes.
