Product Engineer | Test and Validation Vehicle Dynamic (Ride, Handling and Comfort)

We are looking for a Test and Validation Engineer to support the development, calibration, and validation of vehicle dynamic performance, focusing on Ride, Handling, and Comfort for commercial vehicles.

This role involves close interaction with TRATON Group brands in a global environment, requiring advanced English proficiency and availability for national and international travel.

• Work on the development, calibration, and validation of parameters related to Ride, Handling, and Comfort applied to commercial vehicles (trucks and buses);
• Evaluate and validate vehicle dynamic behavior through subjective and objective tests;
• Conduct vehicle tests on proving grounds and public roads, focusing on systems such as suspension, steering, brakes, and cabin suspension (complete vehicle);
• Analyze vehicle acquisition data (CAN, sensors, accelerometers, etc.) to support technical decision-making;
• Interact with international teams, participating in technical meetings, design reviews, and alignment of global requirements;
• Support benchmarks, comparative tests, and global validation events, including technical trips if necessary;
• Prepare technical reports, engineering recommendations, and presentations for stakeholders.

Technical Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related fields;
• Solid knowledge of vehicle dynamics, focusing on Ride, Handling, and Comfort;
• Solid knowledge of mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and control systems;
• Experience with suspension systems, steering, and brakes (development, testing, or validation);
• Ability to analyze subjective and objective vehicle performance data;
• Proficiency in simulation tools such as ADAMS, TruckSim, or similar;
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Matlab, Python, or similar tools for model analysis and development;
• Basic knowledge of CATIA V5;
• Valid driver’s license (Category D or E);
• Advanced English.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in global automotive projects or multicultural environments;
• Postgraduate or Master’s degree in durability or automotive engineering;
• Knowledge of project management tools and technical documentation.
