This role offers the opportunity to work on high-volume civil litigation matters within a multidisciplinary legal environment.
You will take ownership of a portfolio of cases, managing proceedings from initial review through ongoing litigation and resolution.
The position combines legal drafting, hearings, procedural strategy, client interaction, and risk monitoring.
You will handle matters of medium and high complexity while balancing deadlines, priorities, and business needs.
The role also involves working with legal technology and case management systems to maintain accurate and organized information.
You will collaborate closely with colleagues and clients in an environment focused on efficiency, innovation, continuous improvement, and high-quality legal service.
Accountabilities:
- Manage a portfolio of high-volume civil litigation cases, ensuring complete and timely monitoring of proceedings.
- Draft petitions, defenses, appeals, procedural submissions, initial complaints, and other legal documents involving medium and high levels of complexity.
- Participate in court hearings and deliver oral arguments when required.
- Define and implement appropriate procedural strategies based on the characteristics and objectives of each case.
- Update procedural tracking systems and ensure that case information, deadlines, and documentation remain accurate and organized.
- Maintain direct communication with clients through meetings, alignment discussions, and presentations of case and portfolio results.
- Support the management of incoming demands by prioritizing activities according to deadlines, urgency, and business impact.
- Monitor litigation risks and recommend actions that can contribute to effective portfolio performance.
- Collaborate with the wider legal team to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in internal processes and workflows.
Requirements
- Previous experience in high-volume civil litigation.
- Strong knowledge of Civil Law, Consumer Law, and Civil Procedure.
- Experience using systems and platforms for procedural and case management.
- Strong communication skills, with confidence interacting directly with clients and participating in professional meetings.
- Proactive approach, strong organizational skills, and the ability to optimize time and delivery across multiple demands.
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to manage competing deadlines effectively.
- Resilience and adaptability when dealing with complex or challenging situations.
- Postgraduate qualification or specialization in Civil Procedure or another area of Civil Law is desirable.
- English language skills are considered an advantage.
