Accountabilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing database solutions while supporting the evolution of business applications. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing, maintaining, and optimizing SQL Server queries to ensure performance, reliability, and data integrity.
- Creating and improving stored procedures, views, triggers, functions, and database structures using T-SQL.
- Analyzing and resolving database performance issues, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing optimization strategies.
- Developing and maintaining financial and operational reports using SQL technologies and reporting tools such as Crystal Reports.
- Supporting the maintenance and evolution of legacy applications developed in Visual Basic 6.
- Investigating data inconsistencies and technical issues, providing effective solutions.
- Collaborating with development teams to improve database processes and application performance.
- Applying good development practices, version control workflows, and documentation standards.
- Contributing to continuous improvements in systems, processes, and technical solutions.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate is a database-focused developer with experience in SQL Server, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work with both modern and legacy technologies. Required qualifications include:
- Solid experience with SQL Server and T-SQL development.
- Strong knowledge of stored procedures, views, triggers, indexes, and query optimization.
- Experience identifying and resolving database performance issues and inconsistencies.
- Experience creating and analyzing reports using database technologies.
- Intermediate Excel skills, including data manipulation, pivot tables, and essential formulas.
- Experience using Git or other version control tools for collaborative development.
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or other database technologies.
- Experience or willingness to work with Visual Basic 6 for maintaining legacy systems.
- Understanding of software development best practices and agile methodologies is a plus.
- Previous experience in financial systems, especially payment or credit card platforms, is considered an advantage.
- Technical degree, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience in technology-related fields.
