Accountabilities:
The Backend Java Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reliable software solutions while collaborating with product and engineering teams to deliver high-quality applications.
- Develop and maintain backend applications using Java and related technologies, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
- Build and evolve software features aligned with business requirements and technical standards.
- Design, implement, and consume REST APIs and integrate services within distributed environments.
- Work with microservices architectures to create efficient and scalable solutions.
- Apply software engineering best practices, including clean code principles, testing, and code reviews.
- Develop and optimize database interactions using relational databases and SQL.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, QA teams, and other technical stakeholders to ensure end-to-end delivery.
- Participate in agile ceremonies such as Scrum meetings, planning sessions, and retrospectives.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance applications, processes, and development practices.
- Contribute to version control, build automation, and continuous integration workflows.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate is a mid-level backend developer with strong Java experience, knowledge of modern software development practices, and the ability to collaborate effectively in agile technology teams.
- Professional experience developing backend applications with Java, including Java 8+ and familiarity with newer versions.
- Knowledge of Node.js and experience working with backend technologies.
- Experience designing, consuming, and integrating REST APIs.
- Familiarity with frameworks and technologies such as Hibernate, Spring, JSF, Java EE, Web Services, REST, JPA, EJB, and PrimeFaces.
- Experience working with relational databases, especially Oracle and PL/SQL.
- Knowledge of software version control tools such as Git or CVS.
- Experience with build tools like Maven and continuous integration pipelines using tools such as GitLab or Jenkins.
- Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Experience working in agile environments using methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
