Embedded Firmware Quality Assurance Engineer

We are looking for Embedded Firmware Quality Assurance Engineers to join our fast-paced, innovative environment at FusionHit. You’ll be part of a dynamic team verifying and validating software and firmware for RFID-based solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge embedded systems, collaborate with talented engineers, and ensure product excellence through rigorous testing and automation.

Our client operates in the RFID technology industry, delivering scalable, high-performance solutions for global applications. The project focuses on ensuring reliability, accuracy, and performance of embedded software and firmware products through thorough QA practices.

Location: Must reside and have work authorization in Latin America.
Availability: Must be available to work with significant overlap with Mountain Standard Time (MST).

The Ideal Candidate Has:

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Firmware or Embedded Software QA, validation, or verification.
• Strong understanding of hardware components and systems.
• Hands-on experience testing RFID fixed readers or embedded firmware solutions.
• Solid knowledge of GRPC, MQTT Protocols, REST, and SOAP API testing.
• Experience with tools such as Postman, WinSCP, FileZilla, PuTTY, and Wireshark for network traffic analysis.
• Proven experience with Defect Tracking (Jira) and Test Management (Xray) tools.
• Self-starter, capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills in English (C1 preferred, strong B2 may be considered).

Nice to have:

• Experience with programming languages such as C++ and Python.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze software and firmware requirements to prepare detailed test specifications.
• Perform verification and validation (V&V) testing on applications, middleware, and embedded systems.
• Execute tests, identify defects, and create detailed test reports.
• Participate in project meetings and provide daily task and progress updates.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to the Client’s Software Development Process.
• Contribute to improving QA practices and test automation for embedded firmware products.
