Accountabilities:
The role is responsible for developing reliable backend systems and contributing to the evolution of shared technology capabilities. The professional will work across engineering, product, and design teams to create secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
- Develop and maintain backend applications using Python, focusing on quality, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
- Build APIs, services, integrations, and reusable components that support AI-driven capabilities.
- Create and evolve solutions involving connectors, MCPs (Model Context Protocol), and shared platform components.
- Contribute to technical architecture decisions and the continuous improvement of engineering standards.
- Apply software engineering best practices, including automated testing, observability, documentation, and code reviews.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and user-focused solutions.
- Use AI-powered tools as development accelerators while ensuring responsibility for code quality, security, and maintainability.
Requirements:
We are looking for a software engineer with strong backend development experience, solid engineering foundations, and the ability to work independently in an evolving technology environment.
- Professional experience developing backend applications with Python.
- Knowledge of or interest in MCP (Model Context Protocol) and AI application integrations.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, REST APIs, and distributed systems.
- Experience applying software engineering principles such as SOLID, Clean Code, and Design Patterns.
- Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with automated testing, code reviews, and collaborative development practices.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, experimentation, and fast-changing environments with autonomy.
- Experience with applied AI, including LLMs, prompt engineering, MLOps, or LLMOps, is a plus.
- Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools, such as Datadog, is a plus.
- Experience with messaging systems and asynchronous processing technologies, such as Kafka or Pub/Sub, is a plus.
- Interest in sharing knowledge through communities, events, articles, mentoring, open-source projects, or similar initiatives is a differentiator.
