As a SQL Developer / Database Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining, optimizing, and enhancing complex database structures to ensure reliable and predictable system performance. You will work in environments with limited documentation, reading and analyzing existing procedures to identify improvements and correct issues. Collaborating closely with developers and analysts, you will contribute to the stability and efficiency of business processes, document database structures for team clarity, and participate in agile ceremonies to foster continuous improvement. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment where analytical thinking, curiosity, and attention to detail are highly valued. You will help transform raw data into structured, optimized solutions that support organizational goals.
Accountabilities:
- Analyze, understand, and improve complex databases with limited documentation, identifying dependencies and business rules in procedures
- Debug, optimize, and maintain SQL queries and procedures, addressing logic issues and improving performance
- Document database structures, processes, and logic to provide clarity and knowledge sharing for the team
- Collaborate with developers and analysts to ensure consistency, reliability, and efficiency of solutions
- Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to the continuous improvement of development practices and processes
- 4+ years of practical experience with SQL (e.g., SQL Server or PostgreSQL)
- Strong expertise in writing and debugging queries and procedures, with a focus on optimization and improvement
- Ability to read and understand database structures even with limited documentation
- Clear communication skills and experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Analytical mindset with a focus on delivering value and ensuring solution stability
- Desirable: experience in database administration (backup, security, permissions, performance), automation of routines, monitoring, familiarity with regulated environments, and technical documentation tools
