Descrição do Emprego - M&A Analyst

TAG GROUP – M&A ANALYST (LATAM)
TAG Group is seeking an M&A Analyst to support acquisition activities across its portfolio of software companies in Latin America.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The role involves financial analysis, valuation modeling, support in due diligence processes, and preparation of investment materials. This position is ideal for early-career finance professionals looking to gain hands-on transaction experience in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial software acquisition environment.

ABOUT TAG SOFTWARE GROUP
TAG Software Group is a team of experienced investors and operators focused on acquiring and growing mission-critical software companies serving SMB, enterprise, and public sector customers. As part of Valsoft Corporation, TAG provides a permanent home for software businesses, prioritizing long-term partnerships and sustainable growth.

INVESTMENT APPROACH
Unlike private equity and venture capital firms, TAG operates as an entrepreneurial acquirer, partnering with existing management teams to enhance and grow software businesses. The company emphasizes long-term value creation and prioritizes the well-being of employees and customers over short-term results.

CULTURE
TAG fosters a collaborative, high-performance culture where people are its greatest asset. The company encourages ambition with humility, continuous growth, and celebrates shared achievements.

ROLE OVERVIEW
As an M&A Analyst, you will work closely with senior members of the M&A team and support the full transaction lifecycle — from initial deal sourcing and financial analysis to due diligence and closing. You will help identify attractive acquisition opportunities, assess the financial and operational health of target companies, and contribute to high-quality investment memos and presentations for senior leadership.

This role requires strong analytical capabilities, commercial acumen, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain financial models, including DCF, trading comparables, transaction comparables, and scenario analyses
  • Support deal sourcing efforts through industry research, vertical software market mapping, and identification of qualified acquisition targets
  • Prepare investment memos, management presentations, and supporting materials for leadership review
  • Conduct comprehensive financial, commercial, and operational due diligence on potential acquisitions
  • Analyze historical financial statements, forecast assumptions, KPIs, and customer metrics
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across finance, operations, technology, and legal throughout the diligence process
  • Track portfolio and pipeline metrics, manage data rooms, and monitor transaction timelines
  • Perform market and competitor analysis to assess industry trends, risks, and growth opportunities
  • Maintain CRM data and internal acquisition tracking tools to support pipeline management
  • Contribute to continuous process improvements, documentation, and best practices within the M&A function

REQUIRED / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 2–3 years of experience in Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, M&A, Private Equity, Consulting, or a similar analytical role
  • Strong financial analysis, modeling, and valuation skills
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Portuguese; Spanish is a strong plus
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Intellectual curiosity about vertical market software businesses and long-term investing

ADDITIONAL / PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Hands-on experience with financial modeling, including DCF, comparables, and sensitivity analysis
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Understanding of SaaS metrics and software-focused due diligence processes
  • Experience conducting market research and competitive analysis
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical capabilities
  • Interest in long-term career development within M&A, corporate development, or strategic finance
