This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Okta Engineer based in Brazil.
This role is focused on designing, implementing, and operating secure identity and access management solutions using Okta across complex, distributed application environments. You will play a key role in modernizing authentication systems by replacing legacy access patterns with scalable, standards-based identity flows. Working hands-on with Okta and Okta Access Gateway, you will support application integrations, migrations, and troubleshooting across enterprise systems. The position requires strong technical depth in identity protocols such as OIDC and experience working with Apache-based access architectures. You will collaborate closely with application teams, security stakeholders, and identity engineers to ensure secure and seamless access experiences. This is a high-impact engineering role where your work directly improves security, scalability, and user access across multiple platforms. Accountabilities:
- Design, configure, and maintain Okta policies, authentication flows, access controls, and token configurations for applications and APIs.
- Integrate enterprise applications with Okta using secure authentication and authorization standards.
- Support migration of Okta configurations, applications, and access patterns between environments.
- Replace legacy Okta Access Gateway (OAG) dependencies by implementing OIDC and Apache-based access solutions where applicable.
- Troubleshoot and resolve authentication, authorization, and identity-related issues across integrated systems.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and identity teams to gather requirements and implement secure solutions.
- Document configuration changes, integration designs, and operational procedures for knowledge sharing and compliance.
- Support automation initiatives and contribute to AI-driven or workflow optimization efforts within Okta ecosystems when possible.
Requirements:
- 5–7 years of experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM), with strong Okta engineering expertise.
- Hands-on experience with Okta and Okta Access Gateway (OAG) in production environments.
- Proven ability to work independently at a senior level with minimal onboarding required.
- Strong experience configuring Okta policies, authentication flows, and token-based access mechanisms.
- Experience integrating applications with Okta and troubleshooting complex authentication issues.
- Demonstrated experience supporting migrations across environments and documenting technical changes.
- Solid understanding of OIDC protocols and Apache-based reverse proxy/access architectures.
- Familiarity with automation in Okta or exposure to AI-assisted identity workflows.
- Experience working in environments that include Azure is highly valued.
- Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
