This role combines backend engineering expertise with advanced test automation practices to improve software quality and delivery efficiency.
You will contribute to production backend services while designing scalable automation frameworks that ensure reliability across applications.

Accountabilities:
The role focuses on strengthening software reliability by combining backend development with automation engineering. You will contribute to production systems, create scalable testing solutions, and collaborate with engineering teams to improve quality, efficiency, and delivery practices.
- Develop and maintain backend production code using Java or Kotlin, contributing to scalable and reliable services.
- Design, build, and maintain automated testing frameworks using TypeScript and Playwright.
- Create comprehensive functional, integration, and API test suites to validate backend services and user experiences.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous quality validation throughout development cycles.
- Analyze failures, debug complex issues, and perform root-cause analysis across different layers of the application stack.
- Improve engineering efficiency by creating reliable automation strategies and reusable testing solutions.
- Collaborate with developers, QA professionals, and technical stakeholders in a distributed Agile environment.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure testing practices support application stability, performance, and maintainability.
Requirements:
We are looking for a senior software engineer with strong backend development experience, advanced automation skills, and the ability to work effectively in a remote international environment.
- Strong professional experience in backend engineering with hands-on Java or Kotlin development.
- Advanced knowledge of TypeScript and experience building automation frameworks with Playwright.
- Proven experience creating functional, integration, and API test suites.
- Practical experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to work across both backend feature development and test automation architecture.
- Experience working with Agile methodologies and remote, distributed engineering teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills with experience debugging complex technical issues.
- Fluent English communication skills for technical discussions, documentation, and daily collaboration.
- Nice-to-have experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, microservices architectures, REST APIs, Git workflows, and pull request processes.
- Exposure to performance testing, reliability testing, accessibility testing, contract testing, or web/mobile testing tools is a plus.
