This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Platform Architect - REMOTE. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for defining and implementing innovative architectural solutions that transform traditional systems into modular, OpenShift-first environments. Your expertise will guide the integration of legacy and contemporary technologies, ensuring seamless transitions while adhering to operational and compliance requirements. As a leader in platform architecture, you will influence decisions that shape the operational capabilities of both shipboard and shore infrastructures, making a significant impact on mission success.
Accountabilities
- Lead the end-to-end technical architecture for Next Generation across shipboard and shore environments.
- Architect and govern the use of Red Hat OpenShift as the primary hosting platform.
- Define and oversee the technical approach for sustaining and migrating existing VMware-based and bare-metal workloads.
- Establish and enforce Infrastructure as Code and GitOps principles across Next Generation.
- Define how modular hardware building blocks are incorporated into the platform architecture.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in platform architecture or related fields.
- Deep expertise in Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes.
- Active Secret clearance required.
- Hands-on experience with OpenShift Virtualization and KubeVirt.
- Advanced experience with Ansible Automation Platform for orchestration.
- Strong experience with RHEL and platform security controls.
