Reservoir Engineer

The position involves supporting all reservoir engineering activities, including oil and gas reserve estimation, production forecasting, reservoir simulation, and production optimization, while also demonstrating an understanding of geoscience concepts, drilling, completions, and production operations.

• Expert in integrated reservoir simulation studies, including data analysis and integration, model construction, history matching, calibration and predictions.

• Utilize reservoir management standards and guidelines to enhance both NPV and hydrocarbon recovery.

• Competent in the analysis of capillary pressure, relative permeability and PVT data.

• Competent in compositional reservoir modeling.

• Participate in integrated field reviews and field development plans.

• Evaluates and initiates exploitation opportunities, including new drilling and work-overs to maximize reserves recovery and booking, and overall play economics.

• Prepare data and perform PTA interpretation and modeling.

• Formulate the strategies for reservoir development, data acquisition, field surveillance and monitor masterplans to ensure optimal development and depletion strategies.

• Extensive working knowledge of standard vendor applications for pre and post-processing of simulation data and Assisted History Matching software and workflows.

• Is familiar with field production activities to effectively implement reservoir management aspects during the field production phase, including liaison with regulatory agencies.

• Develop Life of Field production profiles and maintain auditable booked reserves estimates and reserves reports

• Coordinate and integrate data, simulation and studies between Artificial lift, production, and dynamic modeling to support the other areas.

• Work with the Production Engineer/Technologist to optimize well potentials.

• Write concise reports for all studies and maintain comprehensive, accessible and up-to-date records of input and interpreted data.

• Coordinates with the business development on acquisition and divestiture projects. Supports the reservoir engineering evaluation component of company acquisition

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Petroleum Engineering.

• Long relevant experience may compensate for formal education

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience with reservoir engineering within the oil and gas industry.

• Reservoir engineering, reservoir management and reservoir simulation skills are essential.

• Proven track record in performing reservoir modeling and field development studies.

• Pressure transient analysis (PTA) interpretation experience will be a plus.

Knowledge

• High proficiency in any reservoir simulation software (Eclipse or T-Nav preferred)

• Proficiency in any production software like Pipesim and/or Prosper.

• Experience with any pressure transient analysis software like Kappa or Pansystem.
