Senior Data Governance Engineer

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Define and implement data governance policies, standards and processes across the organization;


• Lead the development and maintenance of the data catalog, business glossary, and data classification matrix;


• Define, monitor, and report on data quality KPIs, such as accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and consistency;


• Support AI squads by ensuring the reliability of data used in predictive models and AI systems;


• Assist data platform and pipeline teams in building governed, auditable, and scalable data flows;


• Act as a bridge between business and technology areas, disseminating a data-driven culture and data governance best practices;


• Ensure compliance with LGPD, GDPR, ISO 27001, 27701, among other regulations;


• Lead continuous improvement projects related to data security, access, and lifecycle;

What is indispensable for the job?

• Hands-on experience in data governance projects;


• Knowledge of governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK) and data quality management practices;


• Understanding of data architecture, pipelines (ETL/ELT), data modeling, and information security;


• Strong ability to articulate and engage with different stakeholders (both tech and business);


• Desirable experience with data catalog tools, data privacy policies, and frameworks like LGPD/GDPR;


• Collaborative, proactive, and results-oriented mindset;

What would be a plus?

• Familiarity with the concept of privacy by design;


• Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, etc);


• Experience with Data Catalog tools (Dataplex, DataHub, etc);


• At least one programming language (python);


• AWS/GCP Data services knowledge; - Knowledge of SQL and databases.
