Act as the technical lead for mechanical aspects of projects involving the acquisition, implementation, installation, and commissioning of industrial equipment and production lines, representing NOV in technical interactions with suppliers and ensuring project execution meets engineering, quality, safety, schedule, and cost requirements.



Responsibilities

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer – Plant Projects, you will:

  • Act as the technical lead for mechanical disciplines in projects involving the acquisition, implementation, installation, and commissioning of industrial equipment and production lines;
  • Develop mechanical concepts and designs in collaboration with stakeholders in Brazil and Denmark;
  • Design and implement mechanical components based on technical judgment and stakeholder requirements;
  • Prepare technical specifications for external suppliers based on project and stakeholder requirements;
  • Support the implementation in Brazil of solutions developed in Denmark, and vice versa, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing across locations;
  • Follow up with suppliers of critical components and represent NOV in technical discussions;
  • Review and challenge mechanical designs and technical solutions provided by suppliers;
  • Support and execute equipment installations;
  • Conduct engineering analyses and evaluate equipment performance using data and technical expertise;
  • Ensure technical documentation is accurate and compliant with applicable legal requirements;
  • Ensure equipment complies with NOV's Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards;
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams and deliver activities according to established project standards;
  • Independently manage small-scale engineering projects while meeting engineering, quality, safety, schedule, and cost objectives;
  • Foster a customer-focused mindset when supporting internal manufacturing stakeholders;
  • Promote continuous improvement and comply with NOV's Quality and HSE Management Systems.


Qualifications

What you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field;
  • Solid experience in a similar role within a high-tech manufacturing or R&D environment;
  • Proven experience working in project teams with a strong focus on on-time delivery;
  • Experience using 3D CAD tools, preferably SolidWorks and Navisworks;
  • Hands-on experience implementing engineering solutions in a manufacturing environment;
  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing equipment and production process support;
  • Strong mechanical design capabilities and the ability to develop robust engineering solutions;
  • Proactive, analytical, and solution-oriented mindset;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Portuguese;
  • Availability for national and international travel.

 

Nice to have:

  • M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field;
  • Six Sigma certification;
  • Experience with data-driven root cause analysis;
  • Experience in Project Management;
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies;
  • Experience supporting global or multi-site manufacturing operations;
  • Experience in process or manufacturing engineering;
