Senior Software Engineer - Embedded Software - Indaiatuba/SP

As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer on our IT team at John Deere in Indaiatuba/SP, you will have the opportunity to work on the development, coordination, and execution of software testing in multiple environments (HIL, SIL, In Vehicle) for the R3 and R4 Planting programs, in addition to providing technical guidance and software testing support to Brazil PV&V engineers and technicians for Planting programs.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, and execute software testing in multiple environments (HIL, SIL, In Vehicle) for R3 and R4 Planting programs, while providing technical guidance and software testing support to the Brazil PV&V engineers and technicians for Planting programs;
• Lead test activity planning, assignment of backlog items, and team data reviews for the Brazil SW PV&V engineers and technicians, while mentoring and guiding development engineers in the areas of technical decision making, best practices, data analysis techniques and knowledge management;
• Develop advanced methodologies, processes and tools to improve software testing efficiency and documentation.  Support Crop Care SW PV&V on the development and management of Short Term/Mid-Term/Long Term test plans and schedule;
• Pro-actively work to eliminate impediments for the team.  Communicate with and provide technical support to other functional areas.  Manage communication and collaboration with R3 and R4, Verification Champion, Software Team, BRT, and other key teams.

What Skills You Need

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science or a related field;
• Advanced English: broad vocabulary, good grammar, conducts meetings, argues, negotiates and provides training;
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and be a self-starter (self-motivated);
• Ability to effectively communicate specifics on complex technical topics both written and verbally;
• Experience working in cross-functional teams, demonstrating exceptional collaboration skills;
• Experience: 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in embedded software engineering, specifically in Software PVV testing for agricultural machinery or similar fields.

What Makes You Stand Out

• General knowledge of modern row crop planters or experience operating row crop planters;
• Experience developing embedded software with methodologies such as Agile or DevOps;
• Experience testing embedded hardware and software;
• Experience troubleshooting electrical harnessing issues, general knowledge of embedded electronics;
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use data trends to inform decision-making and drive improvements.
