Software Engineer PL - Indaiatuba/SP

As a Software Engineer PL on the Developer Experience Team at John Deere, based at the headquarters in Indaiatuba/SP, you will focus on the Developer Experience before a commit is sent. Working with IDE plugins, AI for developers, the Developer Portal, and tools that provide local feedback, there is significant potential to help reduce friction, increase speed, and enhance satisfaction through tools, plugins, and solutions.

Main Responsibilities

• Improve the developer experience at John Deere by providing solutions such as local plugins for early feedback and internal portals to disseminate necessary information;
• Identify organizational constraints and mitigate them through effective software development practices;
• Facilitate the adoption of new technologies by the developer community;
• Actively engage with the developer community, amplifying voices to drive impactful changes that benefit end customers;
• Act as a technical evangelist, proactively promoting opportunities for technical advancement at John Deere;
• Focus on enabling the right processes, empowering developers to take control of their own workflow rather than being hindered by bottlenecks.

What You Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent fields;
• Advanced English (broad vocabulary, strong grammar, able to lead meetings, argue, negotiate, and conduct training sessions);
• Experience as a mid-level developer, writing code for multiple applications (Java, NodeJS, TypeScript, Python);
• Experience with DevOps practices or Extreme Programming (XP) as part of development;
• Experience managing application operations and infrastructure;
• Experience with cloud solution providers (such as AWS, Azure, etc.) to host applications and services;
• Experience in consuming and writing APIs;
• Experience working within a developer community;
• Strong communication skills.

What Makes You Stand Out

• Experience with various DevOps tools (e.g., Drone, GitHub & GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Docker, Terraform, Puppet, Black Duck, Artifactory, Sonar, linting tools, etc.);
• Experience with multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript, Python, Go, Scala, etc.);
• Experience using containers for server orchestration (e.g., Docker, ECS/K8s, etc.);
• Experience contributing to open-source platforms/tools;
• Experience with best technical practices, such as Code Review, Clean Code, and microservices;
• Understanding of event-driven architecture systems;
• Experience with TypeScript;
• Experience with PostgreSQL;
