This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Data Engineer based in Brazil.
You will join a high-impact engineering environment focused on building and scaling the data infrastructure that powers advanced creative intelligence and AI-driven products.
This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, machine learning, and platform architecture, enabling the transformation of large-scale creative, media, and performance data into actionable insights.
You will design and operate the foundational systems that support analytics, APIs, ML models, and customer-facing data products used by global clients.
The work is highly cross-functional, requiring close collaboration with data science, product, and engineering teams to productionize AI and ML capabilities.
You will contribute to shaping how data is modeled, served, and governed across complex, high-volume systems.
This is a senior technical leadership role for someone who thrives in building robust, scalable, and AI-enabled data platforms in fast-evolving environments.
Accountabilities:
- Architect and evolve scalable data platforms supporting analytics, ML/AI products, reporting systems, APIs, and integrations with external partners and customers.
- Own the full data lifecycle, including ingestion, transformation, modeling, validation, lineage, orchestration, and serving across multiple data domains.
- Design and maintain batch, streaming, and near-real-time data pipelines that are reliable, observable, cost-efficient, and production-ready.
- Partner closely with Data Science teams to productionize ML models, embeddings, and AI-driven outputs into stable, customer-facing data products.
- Build the data foundations required for LLM, VLM, multimodal, and agentic AI workflows, ensuring scalability and reliability.
- Define and enforce data engineering standards, including testing, observability, governance, and data quality frameworks.
- Support integrations with external platforms, ad systems, and internal product surfaces through robust and well-governed data flows.
- Influence long-term platform architecture decisions, including tooling, storage, processing frameworks, and cost optimization strategies.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data platform engineering, or analytics engineering within SaaS, AdTech, MarTech, marketplace, or similar data-intensive environments.
- Strong expertise in modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, and distributed processing architectures.
- Advanced programming skills in SQL and at least one language such as Python, Scala, or Java (TypeScript is a plus).
- Proven experience designing scalable batch, streaming, and incremental data processing systems.
- Deep understanding of data modeling, pipeline architecture, and production-grade data workflows.
- Hands-on experience supporting or building ML/AI-powered products, including LLMs, embeddings, or recommendation systems.
- Strong ability to partner with Data Science teams to operationalize models and build reliable feedback loops.
- Experience implementing data quality, observability, lineage, monitoring, and incident response practices.
- AI-forward mindset with active use of AI tools for engineering productivity, debugging, documentation, and data exploration.
- Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to balance tactical delivery and long-term platform design.
- Excellent communication skills with strong written documentation and the ability to explain complex systems clearly.
- Fluent English (B2+ level) is required; additional experience in AdTech or MarTech environments is a strong plus.
