What you will bring:
Reporting to the Director of Care, lead with purpose to build a vibrant, engaged workplace culture whose focus is safety and quality care.
Drive excellence by ensuring nursing services meet the highest standards of care and compliance with legislation (Fixing Long-Term Care Act 2021).
Champion quality & safety with quality improvement initiatives, promoting evidence-based practices, and managing risk with a proactive approach.
Develop talent by recruiting, mentoring, and supporting the development of an empowered and high-performing nursing team, as assigned.
Ensure a personalized, compassionate approach to care that supports the well-being and dignity of each resident.
What We’re Looking For:
Must hold a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Nursing.
Licensing: must hold current registration in good standing with CNO
A minimum of two to five (2-5) years of leadership and management responsibility, which includes supervisory experience in the long-term care or retirement home sector.
Extensive knowledge of the Fixing Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2021, or Retirement Homes Act, 2010, Standards and Best Practices of the College of Nurses of Ontario, Regulated Health Professionals Act, Substitute Decisions and Consent to Treatment Act, Personal Health Information Protection Act and all other relevant legislation preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Experience with RAI/MDS and Behaviour Supports Ontario (BSO) is a plus.
Current CPR certificate and willingness to maintain it for the duration of employment.
Tuberculosis testing (Two-Step Mantoux)
Proof of current flu immunization according to policy.
Provide a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) with a current (within the past 6 months) criminal background check.
