Job Description - Associate Consultant, LRBC (12-month contract) - Internal Only

OPPORTUNITY (INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY):


HEABC has an opportunity for a temporary, 12-month contract, for an Associate Consultant, LRBC. Reporting to the Director, Internal Partnerships & Strategic Initiatives, with dotted line reporting to the Team Lead, LRBC, the Associate Consultant provides specialized physician support services, and works with complex issues to create a highly customer service-oriented approach to meeting host and locum physician needs and requirements, including onboarding to the program, travel, accommodation, expense claims, regional hospital privileges, practice readiness requirements and other related matters.



The Associate Consultant troubleshoots and resolves high-level issues to support effective program operations and meet the needs of health system partners. The role also supports locum recruitment, retention, and evaluation through research, planning, coordination, and participation in events such as conferences, job fairs, seminars, webinars, and provincial or national recruitment activities.



Responsibilities: 



  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with key partners. Represents the Rural Locum Programs at local, provincial, and national venues.

  • Assists with administration of the locum programs, including human resources, finances and related operational matters.

  • Provides a concierge service to locum physicians which includes advice, assistance and travel bookings.

  • Educates host and locum physicians and other partners about locum programs; develops and delivers presentations, creates electronic and printed communications materials, and provides reliable written and verbal information to all partners.

  • Develops and produces regular reports on all program activities and outcomes to the Program Manager, LRBC.



Required Experience: 



  • Successful completion of a three-year post-secondary program in a related discipline such as business administration or human resources and five (5) years’ recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience (preferably in health care and/or hospitality).

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook and relevant software and online systems.

  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail required.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including demonstration of tact, discretion, confidentiality and patience.

  • Ability to coordinate demanding workloads and meet deadlines as required.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including flexibility and the ability to work in a team environment.

  • Ability and willingness to travel primarily in BC and occasionally nationally.


 


Previous knowledge and/or experience in a healthcare or administrative environment are preferred.

Salary Range: $67,861 to $89,037


Typical Hiring Range: $67,861 to $84,826


In determining salary, HEABC considers many factors including the successful candidate’s skillset and experience as well as internal equity. The final salary offer will be at HEABC’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
