Job Description - Associate Director, Performance Marketing (18-month contract)

The Work

The Associate Director, Performance Media is accountable for the strategic leadership, financial stewardship, and operational excellence of EQ Bank’s performance media program. This role owns end-to-end  performance media outcomes across EQ Bank and REM, leading a hybrid internal + agency/vendor model, acting as the senior marketing liaison for analytics and representing performance media with senior stakeholders across marketing and product.



This role operates as a key growth leader, translating business objectives into measurable media strategies, ensuring disciplined investment management, and driving continuous optimization through data, analytics, and cross functional  partnership.


The Core Responsibilities!


  • Own end-to-end performance media strategy and delivery for EQ Bank that aligns to growth, acquisition, and efficiency targets.

  • Accountable for overall marketing budget management including planning, pacing, tracking, accruals, and all finance submissions.

  • Act as the senior decision maker on in year investment tradeoffs, reallocations, and optimization decisions. Supports scenario planning with senior stakeholders as required if there’s a need to consider an increase or decrease in spending throughout the year.

  • Lead and govern a hybrid agency and vendor model, setting scopes, performance expectations, and accountability.

  • Serve as the primary marketing lead and point of contact for Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) and advanced measurement.

  • Partner closely with Analytics to translate Mixed Media Model and performance insights into actionable media and investment decisions. 

  • Provide performance media strategy consultation for REM initiatives, as required.

  • Own monthly Growth Notes and lead monthly growth performance meetings for EQ Bank and EQ Bank Business.

  • Respond to and manage requests from senior leadership related to media performance and growth insights.

  • Lead, coach, and develop team members and agency partners to deliver against performance and growth objectives.

  • Operate as a senior cross functional partner to Product, Brand, Analytics, and Finance to drive aligned growth outcomes.

Let's Talk About You!


  • University degree in Marketing, Business, Commerce, or equivalent senior level experience.

  • 8–10+ years of experience leading performance media or growth marketing in client side and/or top tier agency environments.

  • Proven ownership of large, complex marketing budgets, including forecasting, accruals, financial governance, and ROI accountability.

  • Deep expertise in performance measurement, optimization, and advanced analytics, including Mixed Media model, attribution, and conversion optimization.

  • Strong strategic understanding of full funnel media channels (offline & online) and the full consumer journey including acquisition and growth levers.

  • Demonstrated experience translating complex data and insights into clear, executive ready recommendations and decisions.

  • Proven success leading and governing agencies and vendors within a hybrid or multi partner model.

  • 3–5+ years of people leadership experience, with a track record of coaching and developing high performing teams.

  • Deep experience building strong brands and delivering acquisition and loyalty programs across channels and media.

  • Confident, collaborative leader able to influence senior stakeholders and cross functional peers in fast paced, performance driven environments.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented leader with strong execution discipline, sound judgment, and the ability to perform under pressure.
