Basketball Camp Leader – July 21 to August 1, 2025

The Town of Wasaga Beach, Recreation, Events and Facilities Department is seeking Basketball Camp Leader.  Candidates should be energetic and enthusiastic individuals with a passion for the sport and working with children/youth. 

General Responsibilities: Reporting to the Recreation Programmer, Basketball Camp Leader will work as part of a team who are responsible assisting with skill assessment, skill development and teaching, individual and group supervision, lesson plan implementation, progress tracking, evaluation and parent communication/relations. 

Qualifications:
  • Must be 18+ years of age
  • Previous basketball related experience working with children 6 to 13 years of age;
  • Coaching experience in sport and certifications through NCCP or other sport specific accreditation including High Five, considered an asset;
  • Strong interpersonal and effective written and verbal communication skills required;
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service and promote town of Wasaga beach recreation programs;
  • Effective problem solving skills required;
  • An acceptable and current Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference check is required for individuals 18+ years of age; 
  • Standard First Aid CPR – C with AED certification required;
  • General knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act;  
  • Ability to lead, work with and contribute positively to a service oriented team;
  • Ability to work in inclement weather conditions.

Rate of Pay Range: $ 21.71 to $ 23.48
