Confined Space Monitor / Air Trailer Attendant

Location: Various Shutdown Projects Across Alberta

Position Type: Contract

Wage/Salary Range: $25.00 per hour

Shift Schedule: Rotational shutdown schedules including days, nights, weekends, and overtime as required

Hours Per Day: 10 to 12 hours per day during active shutdown periods

Job Overview:
GrizzlyTrek is currently seeking one Confined Space Monitor / Air Trailer Attendant to join our Valued Clients team at shutdown projects across Alberta. This is a contract position responsible for supporting safe confined space entry operations and managing breathing air systems during maintenance and turnaround activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Confined Space Attendant during entry operations, maintaining continuous monitoring of personnel inside confined spaces.

  • Monitor atmospheric conditions and ensure compliance with confined space entry permits and safety procedures.

  • Operate and monitor breathing air trailers and air distribution systems used for supplied air respirators.

  • Maintain clear communication with workers inside confined spaces and site safety teams.

  • Track personnel entering and exiting confined spaces and maintain entry logs.

  • Identify and report unsafe conditions or hazards immediately.

  • Ensure emergency response procedures are understood and initiate response protocols if required.

Qualifications:

  • CSTS-2020 or CSO certification.

  • H2S Alive certification.

  • Standard First Aid with CPR/AED.

  • Confined Space Entry and Rescue certification (required).

  • Experience supporting shutdowns, turnarounds, or industrial maintenance projects.

  • Strong situational awareness and ability to remain attentive for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience operating breathing air trailers or supplied air systems.

  • Fall Protection certification.

  • Previous refinery, upgrader, or large industrial plant experience.

Work Environment:

  • Heavy industrial facilities including oil and gas plants, refineries, and construction shutdown sites.

  • Work may involve outdoor conditions, elevated noise levels, and strict PPE requirements.

  • Extended shifts and rotational schedules during shutdown periods.
