Job Description - Emergency Locum Physician for Northwest Territories

Start Date: January 22 onwards

MDSearch is recruiting ER physicians to join Inuvik Regional Hospital, a 51 -bed facility with 12 acute care beds and the only hospital serving the Beaufort -Delta region. CCFP -EM certification is not required, but candidates must be comfortable in an ER.

Compensation:

Hourly rate (no fee for service).

Requirements:

CCFP (required)
ACLS
Vulnerable Sector Clearance
Comfortable working independently in a rural ER
Eligible for licensure in the Northwest Territories

Benefits:

Travel and accommodations fully covered (meals not included)
Travel stipend up to $3,000 for locums travelling to Inuvik
(for start dates between Jan 5 – March 31, based on travel time)
Locum blocks are typically 1–2 weeks, with longer assignments available

Licensing & Credentialing:

Not licensed yet: NWT licensing and credentialing procedures takes 6 weeks to complete and is quite similar to other jurisdictions. The initial licensing & registration fee in the NWT is $383.
