Fleet and Facilities Summer Student
Classification: Full time, Term (July 2, 2025 – August 29, 2025)
Salary: $17.85 per hour
Location: Williams Lake, BC
Deadline: June 27, 2025
The Tŝilhqot’in National Government (TNG) is the official First Nations government serving the Tŝilhqot'in Nation. TNG is located in Williams Lake, British Columbia and serves six communities, including ʔEsdilagh, Tŝideldel, Yuneŝit'in, Tl'etinqox, Xeni Gwet'in, and Tl'esqox.
The Summer Student will assist in Fleet and Facilities within the Operations and Human Resources Department.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with grounds upkeeping and maintenance including mowing, weeding, watering and landscaping
Identify and assist with general facility repairs and maintenance as needed
Assist with equipment upkeep and identifying repairs when needed
Carries out assigned janitorial and minor preventative maintenance tasks
Operate small equipment and hand tools
Duties may involve moving furniture, putting together furniture and putting away supplies
Other duties as required
Requirements
Must be enrolled in school and must be taking full time courses in September 2025
Proven ability to adapt to changing dynamics
Critical Problem-Solving skills and able to set goals and be accountable
Communication skills verbal and written
Organizational conflict resolution, & time management skills
Able to work alone or in a team environment with minimum supervision
Recognizes and respects cultural diversity and understands Tŝilhqot’in culture
Working Conditions
Travel may be required
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and additional hardware
Overtime as required
Lifting or moving up to 25lbs may be required
