WHY THIS ROLE: 

As a member of the Global Expansion team and reporting to the Director, the FDI Assistant will provide research and lead-generation support for ongoing and future FDI projects across target geographical regions (USA, Europe and Asia). The successful candidate will be a quick learner that thrives in a fast-paced environment.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: 

• Collecting economic data and preparing reports to share with the Market Directors for use in ongoing and future FDI projects; 


• Conducting research and generating leads for future FDI activities; 

• Providing support and coordination for the follow-up activities related to ongoing outbound FDI missions; 


• Providing support and coordination for the ongoing FDI target companies visit to the Ottawa region; 


• Providing support and coordination for the ongoing FDI lead generation activities and target projects; 


• Working with the Market Directors to provide support for FDI reports and metrics; 


• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
  

This position will be required to work onsite at Bayview Yards, minimum 10 days per month.

• Corporate Pay Band A: $44,000 - $66,000 


• Hiring Salary Range: $50,000

WHAT YOU HAVE ACCOMPLISHED/ GAINED THROUGHOUT YOUR CAREER: 

• Recently graduated or a current student from a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on Economics, Marketing, Commerce, Business Administration, International Business or equivalent; 
• Demonstrated interest and robust knowledge in the continental and international business communities;
• Excellent data and research analytical skills;
• Informed decision-making with sound understanding of context, data and evidence;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
• Proficiency in additional languages relevant to the target markets of the IO Global Expansion team is considered an asset (French, Spanish, German, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, etc.).
• Positive attitude, outgoing and willing to learn new skills and knowledge;

• Ability to work in a small team as well as independently;

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities and tight deadlines
