Job Summary
Lauren is seeking a Senior Process Engineer specializing in pipeline and piping hydraulics to lead advanced steady-state and transient analysis for oil & gas pipeline systems and facility piping networks. This role involves modeling, evaluating, and mitigating hydraulic phenomena such as water hammer, surge, slugging, and other transient events to ensure a safe and reliable system design. The successful candidate will integrate hydraulics expertise into process engineering deliverables, support multi-discipline teams, and provide technical leadership across all project phases.
Responsibilities
Perform steady-state and transient hydraulic analysis for pipelines and facility piping systems, including surge, water hammer, slugging, and pressure transients.
Develop and validate hydraulic models using industry-standard software; prepare detailed engineering reports and recommendations.
Define mitigation strategies for transient events (e.g., surge relief systems, valve sequencing, control logic).
Integrate hydraulics results into process design, equipment sizing, and operability strategies.
Review and develop engineering drawings and documentation (PFDs, P&IDs, control narratives).
Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (CSA, ASME, API, AER).
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and clients; provide clear technical communication and presentations.
Support commissioning, start-up, and troubleshooting activities related to hydraulic performance.
