Reporting directly to the Foreperson, the Journeyperson Pipefitter will be responsible for installing, assembling, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing piping systems across industrial environments. This role requires strong technical knowledge, precision, and the ability to work safely and efficiently within a team or independently.
The incumbent will conduct all activities in a manner that supports the mission, vision and values of Lynco, as well as adherence to all established Policies and Procedures.
This temporary project-base full-time, hourly position is located within the Lloydminster region, Alberta and Saskatchewan starting in March 2026.
Duties and Responsibilities
Install, fit, and fabricate piping systems according to specifications, drawings, and codes.
Measure, cut, thread, groove, weld, and bend pipe using manual and power tools.
Interpret isometric drawings, piping & instrumentation drawings (P&IDs), and work packages.
Execute piping layouts and determine material requirements.
Support hydrotesting, pneumatic testing, and system commissioning.
Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, hazard assessments and proper use of PPE.
Perform work on various industrial sites, construction projects, or maintenance facilities.
Collaborate with supervisors, and other trades people.
Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work area; and,
Other relatable duties as required.
Qualifications
Journeyperson Pipefitter certification is required; Red Seal is preferred.
Three (3) years of experience in an industrial pipefitting environment is required.
Valid safety tickets (e.g., CSTS, WHMIS, Fall Protection, Confined Space) depending on site requirements.
Pre-employment Alcohol & Drug test is required.
Strong understanding of applicable codes and standards is required.
Proficient with pipe fabrication tools and equipment.
Basic welding or tack‑welding ability is considered an asset.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Ability to travel and work on all work sites without restrictions.
Ability to work shift work, including overtime when required. Must be willing to outdoors in all weather conditions.
Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, mining, or construction environments is considered an asset.
Strong problem‑solving and communication skills, and,
Ability to mentor apprentices.
Qualified status with the Métis Nation of Alberta or fluency in Dene Cree are preferred candidate traits.
